error installing on Thecus N8800 with firmware

Hi

 

I'm having trouble installing the APCUPSD module on my Thecus N8800 after upgrading firmware to release 5.01.04.

I unziped  APCUPSD-1.04.07, and used the web front-ends module installation to install it and get:

Module will install/upgrade ,please do not reload or close admin UI
2011/08/05 18:57:46: Install.rdf file do not exist.
2011/08/05 18:57:46: Install module fail.


When I look in the archive I can plainly see the install.rdf file is there.
Any tips to what might be wrong?

Hi Jan,

Thecus already confirmed this to be a firmware bug that should get fixed with the next release (hopefully). Other users of Thecus products that upgraded to 5.01.04 experienced the same issues. Thanks to your update they may now be able to install modules using the workaround you mentioned ... at least they should/will try.

Hi

I managed to install the module. The error I recevied when installing modules turned out to exist when attempting to install the modules in Auto Module Installation page as well. But one module installed without error - the RSync module. After installing the RSync module, the APCUPD module installed without error.

Looks like there is a strange error with this firmware version.
