This module enables the SNMP agent on the NAS and allows to configure the agent. The module uses the agent pre-installed in /opt/netsnmp (or /opt_extern/netsnmp as with Thecus Firmware 3.x). MIBs are installed with the module into the modules system/etc/mibs directory.

Beside standard MIB support some monitoring and notification options can be configured through the WebUI directly. These are:

• link up/down
• swap space low
• high system load

Further, a private MIB tree has been added to allow device specific events to be monitored. The MIB tree used is .1.3.6.1.4.1.14822.101.21 (or enterprises.fajo.vendor.thecus).

These additional MIBs are:

• FAJO-SNMP-MIB
• FAJO-VENDOR-THECUS-MIB

Currently the following additional objects are made available:

• thecusIO.fan1rpm (thecusIO.1) - integer
• thecusIO.fan2rpm (thecusIO.2) - integer

Note: thecusIO is not available on N16000/N12000

Installation

Extract the module binary package (.mod) from the archive and install it.

Configuration

Note: For this module to work, the integrated SNMP service has to be disabled if the SNMPD standard port is to be used.

After enabling the module the module configuration page can be accessed. Configuration parameters are explained at the bottom of the configuration page.

Starting with 1.01.00 it is possible to completely customize the configuration using the advanced configuration textbox on the configuration screen. This will allow one to add monitors or configure SNMPv3 access controls.
