This module implements a Web Proxy based on Squid Cache.

Squid is a caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and more. It reduces bandwidth and improves response times by caching and reusing frequently-requested web pages. Squid has extensive access controls and makes a great server accelerator.

This module should work for the following models:

Installation

Extract the module binary package (.mod) from the archive and install it.

Note: SQUID3 depends on ModBase1 which has to be installed prior to SQUID3.

Configuration

After enabling the module the module configuration page can be accessed.

Authentication helpers

The following authentication helper programs are available. They are located in the directory /raid/data/module/SQUID3/system/libexec.

Basic Authentication

• getpwname_auth (UNIX passwd/shadow)
• msnt_auth
• ncsa_auth (Apache like password file)
• squid_ldap_auth (LDAP)
• squid_radius_auth (Radius)
• sasl_auth (SASL2 ) (since 1.04.00)
• smb_auth (since 1.04.00)

Digest Authentication

• digest_edir_auth (eDirectory)
• digest_ldap_auth (LDAP)
• digest_pw_auth

NTLM Authentication

• fakeauth_auth
• ntlm_smb_lm_auth

External ACL Helpers

The following external ACL helper programs are available. They are located in the directory /raid/data/module/SQUID3/system/libexec.

• squid_ldap_group (LDAP Group)
• squid_session
• squid_unix_group (UNIX Group)
• ip_user_check
